This is a van I bought in 2013. All wheel drive cargo van which I spent a few months converting. I started by cutting off the roof and having Fiberine install the fiberglass top. This allows you to stand up inside the van for a fraction of the cost of other options for raising ceiling height. The increased height also gave me some valuable storage fore and aft.
At the time the best way to charge house batteries was using a CTEK charge controller. This allowed the batteries to be charged by the alternator and a 100 watt solar panel. I chose Lifeline AGM batteries, which are a good chioce if you are going to sleep directly above the battety bank as they do not off-gas.

The van had a ARB fridge, gas cooktop and a propane heater. There was a 16 gallon water tank with a simple hand pump. The bed was on top of a large 5′ full extension drawer which provided ample deep storage. Cabinets were custom built with VG Fir fronts.

Add a Fantastick roof fan which does wonders for a small van in all seasons. I had a friend sew some custom window coverings for privacy and insulation.
