A New Chapter: Van Life to Farmhouse Living 🌲

That is the home the place I grew up and lived till I moved out after graduating from highschool. My 6 siblings and I now personal the 20 acre farmsite collectively.  

Over the past 4 years, since I began my van life I’ve spent a couple of months every summer season right here. It has been 45 years since I spent a full winter in Northern Alberta.  It’ll positively be an journey.  

My choice to spend the winter on the farmhouse is 3 fold: 

First my older brother retired this spring, he was dwelling right here half time.  The home would have been empty this winter. We must determine the way to deal with the home through the chilly winter months and this shall be a transition yr for us to determine.

Second, with the US alternate price and political local weather I made a decision not to return to the US this winter. Residing in a van within the winter in Canada is doable for some, however not my thought of a very good time.  I lived stealth in Vancouver for a yr earlier than I began touring south.  The gray skies, chilly, damp, and condensation was not loads of enjoyable.  I needed somewhat extra consolation and the empty farmhouse beckoned.

Third, I made a decision I needed to discover extra of Canada and summer season is a greater time to do that.  I shall be planning a cross nation roadtrip subsequent yr. 

Bonus motive – I hope to save cash this winter! Issues are expenssive within the north, so I must let you understand how this goes.
